How should we be bringing about change?

The scale at which climate change is impacting the lives of young people can often render them paralysed, unsure where to start, how to act, and who to turn to for guidance. However, far from being passive victims, young people all over the world have begun to fight back on a scale never seen before. Finding a community of like-minded people who young people can take action with can bring about positive change, both for young people and the planet.

Read the below article by spunout.ie about collective action and the positive change that can occur when we combine forces. Then look for ways in which you can support the young people you work with to build themselves a community of like minded people who can bring about collective action and change.

The first steps to collective action are:

  • Find a group of individuals who share the same passion for the fight (or join an established group)
  • Identify the methods of action your group is comfortable engaging with. For example – Attending marches, contacting MEPs, signing petitions, or mobilising more young people.
  • Take action
